The Indian River Riding Club, Inc. was established in the 1970’s as a place where horsemen can gather and improve their horsemanship, to promote better horses and friendships through the sanction of approved shows, and special and family events.
On the 10th day of April 1992, the Articles of Incorporation of the Indian River Riding Club, Inc. were accepted by the State of Florida. The Indian River Riding Club. Inc. (herein after referred to as the "Club") was organized under the laws of the State of Florida as a non-profit, non-commercial, non-political, SOCIAL welfare corporation (501c4). The Club bylaws were introduced and accepted. These documents govern the operation, actions, and sustainability of the Club.
The land was acquired by the Indian River Riding Club, Inc. from private individuals that held the loan on the land prior to the club being incorporated according to former members. The members at that time worked diligently and successfully to pay off the debt subsequently securing the property and the Club’s future.
The Indian River Riding Club, Inc. is an important equine landmark located in Indian River County. It is a wonderful facility for the equine communities along the Treasure Coast as well as other surrounding counties. There are many multigenerational families, covering a variety of disciplines, who have started and continued their equine partnerships on the Club grounds.
The Indian River, Riding, Club, Inc., Officers and Board of Directors do not receive compensation. As outlined in the Club bylaws, the Club must conduct its affairs without profit to any individual club member.
All administrative duties, social media platforms, website maintenance, grounds keeping, lawn maintenance, and general caretaking tasks are completed by volunteers. Utilities and improvements are paid for through membership fees, sponsorships, and funds collected through equine events. A great deal of pride and effort goes into the end of season awards banquet for the members.
Fiduciary responsibility of the Club, as well as overseeing maintenance of the grounds and buildings, are crucial to the continued success and preservation of the club for future generations.
